hilean film-maker José Luis Torres Leiva’s brand-new drama is a careful treatments for critical sickness. It gets according to the epidermis and into the feelings of two women for couple, and one of these is actually perishing of cancer tumors. Torres Leiva wrote the program after dropping three friends for the ailment. His movie is anti-sentimental, a tough see, reported by users; the type that can leave you feeling only a little delicate. But it’s sensitive, also, and beautifully acted.

Ana (Amparo Noguera) and María (Julieta Figueroa) have their 40s. The movie opens using the a couple of them in a car. María in the passenger seat softly instructs driver Ana to close off her vision, as well as for a tense moment Ana pushes blind, scared. After ward, we find that María has actually critical cancer tumors. That which was she undertaking because minute inside auto? Giving Ana a-glimmer of her own terror regarding the darkness?

We watch because ladies pack up their apartment inside area and proceed to a cabin inside forest, in which María has chosen to die. Very little is claimed; the discussion would suit to a dozen approximately typed pages. Torres Leiva is much more into the emotional weather, the way the two women gaze at each various other, or a hand sleeping on a shoulder. Inside bath, María loses the woman temper with Ana for the treatment of this lady like a child, and rages at the woman infection.

Two big digressions in the centre spoil the movie some. One dramatises a strange fairytale María informs about a nude feral girl residing by yourself inside the woodland; another is children story about the girl uncle. Both felt a little generically arthouse, somewhat awkward experiments. In general, it is a hardcore watch in its means softly comforting. Since it can be in daily life, seeing folks coping with death is actually unusually soothing – it can make it feel workable in some way.
